Some of my cleantech clients

Sadoway Labs Foundation is a nonprofit developing decarbonization technologies through extreme electrochemistry. I evaluate the wide variety of these technologies via research & Techno-Economic Analysis (TEA) and provide guidance on their development.

“Alex recently put together a TechnoEconomic Analysis for us here at Sadoway Labs Foundation. I was very impressed with the usability, depth of research, and formating of the workbook. I look forward to working with Alex again on future projects.”

-Matt Humbert, PhD. Staff Scientist at Sadoway Labs Foundation

Phoenix Tailings is a startup developing the technologies needed to extract critical minerals from tailings (waste leftover from typical mining operations). I helped the design & air permitting of their furnace’s off-gas handling train, provided fundamental process engineering (e.g. mass & energy balances), and CapEx estimates for their engineering demo, next gen, and full commercial scale Molten Halide Salt (MHS) electrolysis process & plant.

Boston Metal is de-carbonizing steel-making with its novel Molten Oxide Electrolysis (MOE) technology. I helped develop their furnace off-gas handling and bulk solids handling systems, and provided strategic & tactical advice for the fluid dynamics within their electrochemical reactor.

“Our startup’s industrial partner struggled to imagine and create a bulk solids handling solution that would fit in our project needs. Instead of embracing creativity they kept defaulting to standard solutions that obviously did not work for our application and did not even fit in our location. I reached out to Alcheme Tech to tackle the problem as I suspected there was a good solution to be had but would require a creative and thoughtful approach.

In just six weeks, Alcheme Tech presented a creative & functional design using existing alternate technologies and even provided a complete CAD model with BOM. Alcheme Tech even helped bring in the CAD designer to join our team for this project and for the rest of our plant.

Thank you!”

-Rich Bradshaw, VP of Engineering at Boston Metal

Malta is creating grid-scale energy storage with their proprietary pumped-heat process. I provided expertise on their coolant system.

VionX Energy (now Largo Clean Energy) is developing grid-scale energy storage using their unique vanadium redox flow batteries. I aided in the Excel & Matlab modeling and design of their fluid-based thermal management system.

Building Envelope Materials is saving BTUs and tons of CO2 by way of their innovative insulation technology. I designed and built their mobile polyurethane foam insulating system.

Rheomega was professional & personal project of mine – As the technical and market researcher, I explored the potential applications of air-water foam to make cleaner energy versions of technologies like power generation, waste heat recovery, and gas compression.
